Thinking of new flooring, forget laminated flooring. They are noisy to walk on, are easily damaged by moisture or water in bathrooms or kitchens. Water on shoes coming in from outdoors nearly always damages the entryway flooring .
Vinyl has improved dramatically with the introduction of heaver weight, thicker plank vinyl. It is easy to install and a great do it yourself project
It is easily repairable, looks great, has a textured surface and the color is deep and not easily damaged unlike sheet vinyl and laminate flooring.
You can buy just the amount you need f
or small jobs, its packaged in small boxes and easy to carry from your car to the job site. Newer vinyls are coming in wider and longer lengths which looks better and is quicker to install.
Where you would have had to buy a whole roll width of regular vinyl and waste a good amount on a small job you can buy two or three boxes of plank vinyl and have virtually no waste.
