Updated Wiring Issues Never Corrected

When the house was remodeled and the electric service upgraded the electrical inspector failed the inspection and notated three items that required correction. Somehow this was overlooked and the house was sold to a new owner who had it inspected before move in.
The issues noted on the back of the inspection tag should have been very obvious to their inspector when the cover was removed from the electric panel box, yet again it was not observed and of course, not repaired. Three years later they put the house up for sale.

We were hired to perform the home inspection for the buyers and see the comments on the tag. In our report we notate the issues in the panels and immediately become “the bad guys”. One very annoyed seller saying it was OK when they bought the house and now it’s a problem!

It is very unusual that building permits are not followed up on, the building inspectors have a process. The electrician who installed the updated panel did poor work, not dangerous, just shoddy!
The home inspector doing the sellers inspection when they purchased was not detailed or observant.
In the end, It got repaired, our client was happy!
