Three weeks ago we performed a home inspection and a “termite” inspection on a lovely tri-level in West Chester. Our bug guy returned this week to deal with a pest issue that was identified in the report.
Arriving at the home he went to pick up a newspaper that had been tossed in the yard and discovered that termites had found it and started to break it down. There are small termites in the center of the photo.
Termites are completely blind and live underground, they come up looking for any cellulose produce to eat. It could be vegetation, the paper finish on drywall or the framing of your home.
If you had your home inspected for termites a few years ago you may want to consider getting it inspected regularly. Don’t be surprised to find that termites have moved in and are destroying your home right now, look how quickly they got into the newspaper!
