So often it’s arrive, and get going. Tool belt on and get to work, room by room, plumbing, electrical etc.
Recently arriving at a house out in the country, I had to park in the driveway and walk through a paddock to get to the house. Horses appeared as soon as I entered the field which surrounded the house I was to inspect, the horses were so friendly and within minutes I was in the middle of a group.
The owner of the house had rescued the horses after they were discarded because they were no longer fast enough for harness racing. Putting my bag down outside the door was all the invitation the four horses needed as they crowded around and started and nuzzling my back, nibbling my jacket and wanting to be petted while the more curious checked out my tool bag and ladder.
Some days you have to forget schedules, slow down, bask in the sunshine and take the time to enjoy those unexpected moments in life that are priceless.
