Inspecting a beautiful home in Centerville, the buyer was impressed with all the updates. The house while not being old had been recently remodeled and a deep soaking bathtub installed. The scene was like something in a magazine, the bath, the view, the chandelier lights….. Chandelier lights?
This is fine and looks great in the movies but in reality this is a big no, no! Chandeliers have exposed light bulbs which is fine in your entry foyer, but in the bathroom above a tub full of water, absolutely forbidden!
In fact an exposed bulb is not allowed in a shower or the surrounding tub area due to the possibility of electrocution. The light fixture in this location is required to have an enclosed bulb.
So it is as simple as; if you can “see the bulb”, say good bye and replace the fixture no matter how amazing it looks.
