Continuing education is how we are spending our (May 2018) weekend at the ASHI spring Expo in Columbus getting another fourteen hours towards our annual requirement!
This is important because in Ohio there is no government regulation of Home Inspectors, buyers can all too often get an inspector who does not adhere to any standard of practice. The ASHI standards are the standards that most licensed states have based their rules and regulations on.
Being an ASHI inspector is as close as we can get to being licensed in Ohio, giving our clients the highest level of qualifications possible in the state. Increasing the number of hours ASHI requires us to complete because we are CRI, certified residential inspectors.
Licensing is coming to Ohio in late 2019 and will start being enforced mid 2020
