Temperatures this summer are breaking records and matching others, there have been days where Dayton has been hotter than Florida and this puts a lot of pressure on your air conditioning system. Two simple things you can do to help your system: 1) Make sure your return filters are clean, this lets more air through and is often a factor that causes poor cooling. 2) Go outside to the AC condenser (the big thing outside) and look up into the outside coils which should be easily visible (usually the front ones are easily seen and the ones facing the house are dirty. If they are dirty (look like a felt mat) turn off the AC, take a hose with a sprayer (not a pressure washer) and keep rinsing down the coil until you can easily see the coil fins. Keeping the coil clean increases cooling air into the condenser coil improving capacity and function. Keep cool!
