This is a situation that we would never have foreseen in our twenty one years of business. The Covid 19 situation has not gone away despite the loosening of restrictions and we are inspecting homes in a pandemic world. We want everyone, believers, and disbelievers to be safe and the homes we inspect to remain safe havens for their occupants after the inspection has been completed.
We are sanitizing between inspections, wearing masks, booties if required, whatever it takes for everyone involved to be safe and comfortable.
Having always begged clients to attend our inspections we have done an about turn and are asking all our clients not to attend particularly if the house is occupied. We want you to be informed about the information in the report.
Not attending may make you feel that you will not get to see the problem areas or understand the issues.
Here are your options:
You attend the inspection:
You are welcome from the start or we can call you closer to the end and have you come over for a quick walk through. You must abide by the Dayton Area Board of Realtors recommendations and will have to wear a mask and maintain social distancing.*
You do not attend the inspection:
We can video conference you (and your Realtor if you want) at the end of the inspection, walk you through the property just as we would do if you were there, pointing out our findings and answering your questions.
The format of the report has also changed for the moment, for example we are more than doubling the number of photos, in fact adding photos of just about all the issues we find. We still produce the report at the end of the inspection but no printed folder, emailing it to you (and your Realtor if you requested that) as we leave the property.
We really appreciate your cooperation at this difficult time for our nation and we are more available by phone than we have ever been. As the situation changes we will change accordingly.
Stay healthy, thank you for considering us for your inspection needs.
* Both inspectors have family members who would be seriously
compromised if they become infected by the Covid 19 virus.
