For many a clothes dryer plug is something they never think about, that’s possibly until you move to a new home. The US standard for years was a three prong 220 volt plug on a gray colored cord. In 1996 there was a change and all new construction from then on had to have a four prong 220 volt plug on a black cord. So voltages are still the same, but an additional prong! Both cords have two 120 volt prongs, then they both have a neutral prong which on the older plug has a combined ground wire whereas the new plug has a forth prong for the ground wire. The cords are easily changed (with a phillips screw driver) to match the wall plug in the house you move to. Dryer cords are sold separately from the dryer for $25/30
