Inspecting a four year old home in Xenia. The front of a two story the house had a big brick gable above the garage and on up into the roof.
When we were in the attic we discovered that the brick mason had dry stacked the bricks and blocks, in other words they had not used any mortar between the blocks and bricks behind the outer brick facade. It was no different from stacked children building blocks, any push and the front of the house would have fallen down.
Its just amazing that it had stayed in position all that time.
It is so well worth it to get a home inspection on new construction.
